This position is the GL Accountant, and is responsible for the integrity of the data in the general ledger in whole.
Summary of Essential Duties:
Compiling and assisting in the completion of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) as prescribed by the GASB standards and GFOA requirements
Assisting in the annual audit
Managing funds which requires adjusting entries through multiple basiss of accounting and financial statements
Fund balancing, and budget review, supplemental budgets as they relate to those funds.

Bachelors Degree in accounting, economics, business or a related field; and sufficient experience as necessitated by the competency level of the position:
0-2 years of accounting experience to include general ledger work, adjusting journal entries, and audit reconciliations (Contributing level: Grade C41)
Any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education and experience may be considered qualifying.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Financial statement preparation
Governmental fund accounting
Generally accepted accounting principles and practices;
Automated accounting applications
Accepted auditing principles and practices;
Oregon budget law
Principles used to design and implement accounting systems or procedures for new activities
Interpreting and applying federal and state laws and regulations and City code ordinances and policies
Performing highly complex accounting work in an accurate and timely manner
Preparing and delivering presentations to boards, commissions and the City Council
